Learn The Graphical System For Applying Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

The ACT Matrix is a graphical user interface that:

  • Helps clients understand ACT concepts & apply them to their lives instantly

  • Helps clinicians conceptualize cases with precision

  • Sets the therapeutic relationship up for success from the first moment

I’m Jacob Martinez, an ACT therapist and trainer from Texas, based in Wisconsin. I specialize in using the ACT Matrix, and creating novel ACT interventions. My goal is to help clinicians become fluent in ACT and “think outside the books” in their clinical work.

Get started using the ACT Matrix

1.

Structure The Perfect Intake Session Using The ACT Matrix

The initial session is where the therapeutic relationship is made or broken. Learn how to set yourself and your clients up for great ACT work.

2.

The Second Session: Continuing The Work

You’ve set up the ACT Matrix with a client. Now what? Learn how to use the matrix in the second session.

3.

The Vertical Line: Conceptualizing Stuckness

Clients intuitively understand the concept of toward and away, but some have difficulty putting it into action. They may have thoughts like “I know what I need to do, but I just can’t do it.” Here’s what that means and how to avoid getting stuck.

I offer consultations on ACT, RFT, and the ACT Matrix for helping professionals. These can be done in person or over Zoom.

Here are some of the things people have reached out to me for:

1. Understanding a specific concept, or grasping RFT.

2. Conceptualizing Cases, through the matrix, hexaflex, six-core yearnings, and more.

3. Help putting together presentations and workshops, or feedback on original exercises.
